The usage of drugs in Malaysia is viewed as a VERY SERIOUS OFFENSE.
It is administered by the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which controls the import, export, production, deal and utilization of opium, risky medications and related materials.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE!
If you are caught with drugs under your possession, you will be imposed with a severe penalty under the Malaysian law.
If you are caught with the following items in possession with you, then you will be severely punished under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act.
- 15gm or more heroin and morphine
- 1000gm or more opium (prepared or raw)
- 200gm or more cannabis
- 40gm or more cocaine
You will be receiving the mandatory punishment which is sentence to death by hanging.
The lighter offenses range from rehabilitation to fines according on the amount of drugs possessed. Anyone regardless of their nationality can be caught and punished if they bring or consume drugs in Malaysia.
